Get Ready To Get Rid Of ItAll year you’ve been saving those dead batteries, sorting through unwanted or outdated solvents and chemicals and wondered what to do with all that old paint. Light bulbs, auto fluids, pesticides and lawn chemicals are cluttering up the garage and you have yet to find a graveyard for that old home theater in the basement.

B2Wins Own The DogwoodWalter and Wagner Caldas, the two talented beyond belief Brazilian born musicians took hold of the Dogwood crowd early and never let go. Modern Day AlchemyJoe Calkins is an artist to be sure but his art is expressed in a method he finds both meaningful and relevant to the human dilemma of what to do about the things we no longer need. Upcycling. Random Bits… ObitsThere’s something about obituaries that’s like the punctuation mark at the end of someone’s life; it’s the final flatline of the recently passed. Yes, it says, this individual is really and truly gone. It’s something written by or about the departed highlighting the life they’ve lived, interests, who they married, kids, grandkids, siblings, parents, maybe some anecdotes of interesting or unusual things they did. And I must admit, I’ve taken to reading the obituaries to
Hands in the Dirt: Guerrilla GardeningWhat is guerrilla gardening? Basically, it is growing food or flowers in neglected public spaces. Like abandoned city lots. Or along public pathways, like old railroad lines. Or maybe a neglected area in your neighborhood.
My role model for guerrilla gardening is Miss Rumphius. She is a fictional character created by Barbara Conney. The children’s picture book tells the tale of an older woman who roams her neighborhood planting lupine seeds. Her aim is to make the world a better place. Getting HitchedPerhaps the desire to be a better person isn't even aimed at wanting our lover, significant other, lifetime spousal companion, etc. to like us more since, hopefully, we’re already pretty assured they love us.
Maybe it’s because when we love someone we feel like they merit the best we can deliver to the person who most deserves it.... Sheriff Bob Mendham Announces Re-Election RunDear Newaygo County Residents,

Despite these challenges, I am proud of what we have achieved together. We have increased our road patrol coverage, expanded our Detective Bureau, and... This & That: The Guv, Gotion, Elections & ShoesWhat's the first thing someone with presidential aspirations does to test the waters before diving in?
Why, write a book of course. An autobiographical account of your journey in becoming who you are intermingled with brilliant ideas and concepts for a brighter America. Since back in 1824 when Andrew Jackson commissioned a biographical account that described him in close to saint-like terms, candidates for the high office have turned to the quill, the fountain pen, the typewriter and finally the keyboard to put their thoughts (and more importantly their name) out there for public consumption. Truth be told few of these stirring offerings... |

That most people among the voting public are not evil. That people can see the world from different perspectives. We may disagree about which matters are problems.
